Philip de Souza

President

PD Headshot2Philip de Souza is the Founder and President of Aurora Enterprises, a California-based consulting firm specializing in data security and compliance. As president, Philip is responsible for coordinating Aurora’s technology, sales and business development teams to strategically position the company as a unique and trusted advisor to its clients.Philip has focused on developing Aurora’s presence in the implementation of data security solutions. Aurora has emerged from its network consulting origins to become an industry leader, with a comprehensive range of solutions for regulatory compliance, legal and best practices requirements to meet the needs of its clients. Aurora has sustained a record 20% growth rate over the past three years, managing effective resources and capacity utilization. More recently, Philip led a team engaged in the design and development of SecurePATH™, a data encryption and regulatory compliance solution that is helping top-tier corporations protect their data, thereby solving a problem that costs corporations billions of dollars in theft, resources and lost intellectual property.

Philip de Souza is past Chairman of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. He was also part of Pepperdine’s prestigious Management Partners Council, and served on the Board of Directors of the St James School Education Foundation.

Philip’s past experience includes designing and implementing a real time nationwide system to gather cost accounting data for one of India’s largest pharmaceutical companies. This first of its kind project was designed and implemented across four manufacturing and ten distribution centers in just 18 months.

Philip earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Bombay, a Fellow of Institute of Cost and Works Accounts and has an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Victor Villegas, Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Victorheadshot4Victor Villegas is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aurora®. Victor has more than 15 years of experience in sales management, business development, strategic alliances and marketing. He is chiefly responsible for Aurora’s revenue growth and developing strategies for Aurora’s expansion, expanding Aurora’s security portfolio and new solution offerings.In addition, Victor is also leading Aurora’s vendor alliance strategy, maintaining and growing key strategic partnerships with Symantec, McAfee and others. As a technology veteran, Victor has led the business development, alliances and marketing efforts most recently for CMT, as Chief of Staff and VP of Alliances and Marketing as well as sales and marketing management positions at both Arrow Electronics and Ingram Micro.

Victor plays a critical role in driving the Aurora security solution, services and product portfolio solutions, while increasing the value of professional services engagements and solutions for Aurora, their customers, and partners.

Ed Mori, Director of Professional Services
edAs the Director of Technology Services at Aurora Enterprises, Ed Mori is in charge of researching and developing new technologies in the security space for Aurora, and creating technology solutions that assist Aurora clients with their business processes. He manages a team of fully qualified engineers, developers and technicians.

Ed also oversees the Professional Services Organization, as well as the engineers that offer full service information technology solutions to the SMB market. He joined Aurora in 1998 after acquiring a wealth of hands-on field experience that focused his efforts on delivering superior customer service.

After designing the user interface for SecurePATH, a new company that offers secure large file delivery, Ed has remained with the firm as CTO. He is also a commission leader at a large local church. In his spare time he enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Gary Bahadur, Director – Security Consulting
GaryMr. Bahadur was the co-founder and CIO of Foundstone, one of most well known information security and vulnerability risk management companies ever created which occupied five offices in the United States and one office in Singapore and one office in India. Foundstone was acquired by McAfee for $86M in October of 2004. Gary was also the President and co-founder of Ether2 Corporation managing business development, client acquisition, marketing, fund raising, and strategic direction. Gary also served as a Senior Vice President at Bank of America. A longstanding industry veteran, Gary was also an Information Security Practice Manager at Ernst & Young and Senior Consultant at Price Waterhouse. Gary has published two books “Windows XP Professional Security” and “Privacy Defended: Protecting Yourself Online” and has a new book “Securing the Clicks” set to be published in August 2011. He has published numerous information security and compliance related articles and is a frequent speaker at a number of information security conferences including ISACA, ISSA, Networld Interop, and Vanguard Security.

Carolyn J. Petty, Controller
CarolynAs Controller for Aurora Enterprises, Carolyn J. Petty is responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day financial plans and policies, while overseeing short and long-term strategy and budgeting. Prior to joining Aurora in 2007, Carolyn had amassed a wealth of experience in financial reporting and control processes, as well as the maintenance of fiscal records and the preparation of financial reports.

Previously, Carolyn served as the executive director for CBS Television Distribution, and served in key executive positions for the Coca-Cola Company and Chase Manhattan Bank.

Carolyn graduated from the University of Arizona with degrees in Accounting and Finance, before earning her MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, swimming and running.

Lori Burzminski, Director of Human Resources
loriLori Burzminski is the Human Resources Director providing HR guidance at Aurora and oversees the Human Resources function, including staffing, and training and development. Lori joined the Aurora team in 2007.

Previously, Lori was the Corporate Human Resources Director for Learning Tree International, a public company that provides worldwide training to managers and Information Technology professionals.

Lori received her HR training from Loyola Marymount University and is a member of the Society For Human Resources Management (SHRM) and also PIHRA (Professionals In Human Resources Association). Lori is also active in her community and is a member of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce, as well as, the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce.
